in the field of Animal Physiology and Neurobiology

 

In accordance with § 2 WissZeitVG and § 72 HessHG, the position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis at the Chair of Animal Physiology, Department of Animal Physiology and Molecular Biomedicine at the Faculty of Biology with the opportunity for own academic qualification. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).

 

As long as the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term contract is not exceeded, you will be employed for an initial period of 3 years. An extension for up to another 2 years is possible under the above-mentioned condition.

 

Your tasks at a glance

  • opportunity for own academic and didactic qualification, activities in research and teaching according to § 72 HessHG
  • taking on teaching duties according to the teaching obligation ordinance of the state of Hessen in the subjects "Animal Physiology" and "Neurobiology”
  • collaboration in research projects with focus on "Neurophysiology of the olfactory system"
  • publication of research results
  • supervision of theses
  • supervision of measuring instruments

Your qualifications and competences

  • completed Master‘s or equivalent university degree in Biology
  • practical experience in the subjects "Animal Physiology" and/or "Neurobiology" is desirable
  • experience in handling acute tissue sections and/or "Whole-mount" preparations is desirable
  • experience with common staining methods as well as fluorescence microscopic methods (especially confocal and multiphoton microscopy) is desirable
  • competence in the analysis of scientific data, e.g., imaging data, is desirable
  • experience in scientific publishing is desirable
  • good command of written and spoken English
  • teaching experience in the subjects "Animal Physiology" and "Neurobiology" is desirable
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • motivated and enthusiastic to learn new techniques
