SEMPER OPERA

This splendid opera house was originally built by the architect Gottfried Semper in 1841. The opera house has a long history of premieres, including major works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.

Grünes Gewölbe – Green Vault

Visitors embark on a visual journey to the Baroque period with 3000 free-standing objects. As early as 1724, the rooms of the Grünes Gewölbe were open to an exclusive public and people – “wearing clean clothes”, as the king desired – were admitted in small groups only, as they are today.
